# Security & Risk

The distinct failure modes of the current staking mechanism and of each long-term product, and the control programme that answers them.

The systems NEXON connects **fail in different ways**. A unified experience can make a route easier to understand; it cannot remove market loss, technical failure, counterparty default, legal restriction or real-world non-performance. So risk is assessed **per asset, per product and per execution leg** — not as one blanket judgment about "the project."

## Risks in the current economic mechanism

## Risks in the long-term products

A model can misread intent, hallucinate a capability, rely on stale data, or be manipulated by untrusted content.

Deterministic limits, simulation, scoped approval and revocation reduce the risk; they cannot make every route correct. **Submission, settlement and fulfillment stay separate throughout.**

Lost credentials, malicious approvals, provider compromise and failed recovery can all cause permanent loss.

A unified wallet view **obscures different custody models** unless each balance and permission names the system that controls it.

Third-party decentralized prediction markets can be restricted, illiquid, manipulated, or resolved through disputed oracles.

Merchants and travel suppliers can change inventory, cancel, fail to deliver or dispute a refund.

## Cross-jurisdiction and legal risk

Token, staking, payment, prediction-market, card, data and promotion rules differ across jurisdictions and change over time. **A product can be technically available and legally unavailable to a particular user.** Licensed status in one operating domain does not automatically cover another.
